Michael Rudchenko
We at RPM are a team. We care about each other. We respect each other. We help each other. We communicate. We get to know and care about our customers. We are professionals. We love our work (I know… hard to believe). I often say and always try to be a part of my customer’s team. I’m proud to say, I have been successful, in a very short time, in imparting this desire in my staff. Or maybe I just got lucky and perhaps they were just those sorts of people all along. I have been in this specific industry for almost 40 years, since I graduated from Cal State Los Angeles, earning a BSEE degree in 1985. Apart from my two sons and a few other personal relationships and accomplishments, it’s my greatest pride and joy to be able to say, a large number of my customers are still my customers to this day. That doesn’t happen without doing a few things right. We rent, repair, calibrate and sell test equipment. We listen, we learn and try our best. Luz Ortiz
Luz Ortiz When I interviewed several different people for the position of Office Manager, I said I needed that person to come in and take charge of the office. I needed that person to be the boss and to “own” the position. She came in, having run another corporation for over 20 years and only left because the other company closed due to retirement of the owner. That was to RPM’s great fortune. She has taken charge and surpassed any expectations I had or may have imagined. Luz is responsible for a wide range of duties. She oversees the day-to-day operations of the company, manages the staff and handles almost all of the filing, scheduling and correspondence between RPM and its customers and vendors. She handles AP, AR and internal bookkeeping, ordering of our supplies and is the able liaison to our computer programmer who is creating our elaborate custom database that essentially runs our entire company. She has exceptional organizational, communication and people skills, judgement, intuition and a fearlessness that serves RPM in ways that are difficult to overstate or quantify. She is a team player who is always willing to go the extra mile to get the job done and is committed to providing a positive and productive work environment for all. She is proud to be a part of the RPM Team and is a valuable asset to RPM and her community. She is a dedicated and hardworking professional who is also a kind and compassionate individual, always willing to help others.
Thomas Alarcon
Thomas Alarcon is our friendly front man. He cheerfully greets everyone at the door, receives your equipment for repair or calibration and outgoing and returning rentals. Always ready to offer our customers a cup of coffee, soda or a comfortable seat to rest a minute. Don’t let his friendly manner fool you. He is that, but there’s so much more behind the scenes. Thomas does a myriad of things including overseeing all aspects of our warehouse’s operations, shipping, receiving, freight, logistics, packaging, developing and implementing procedures and policies, ensuring that operations are efficient and effective. He manages inventory, suggesting or procuring stock of everything we need, from packing materials, to accessories to test equipment itself. He is responsible for making sure all rentals are inspected before they go out and when they return, which is a daunting task. He is integral in our effort to establish and maintain safety in the warehouse, the lab and throughout the whole company. He is also becoming indispensable in the lab, as a very able calibration technician. And NO, you can’t have him.
